Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Hip and Knee Replacements. Mr Veysi is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Chapel Allerton Hospital in Leeds. He also provides care to patients at the Spire and Nuffield Hospitals in Leeds. 

Experience

Mr Veysi is the leading hip and knee replacement surgeon in the region as evidenced by his portfolio in the National Joint Registry.

He has performed over 6000 hip and knee replacements with excellent outcomes.

 

He takes pride in providing a patient centred approach to delivering treatment options to people presenting with problems related to their hip and knees. This approach starts from the time of initial assessment, decisions on the types of investigations and finally to the treatment options.

His practice has evolved to care for complex problems of the hip and the knee. His NHS practice at Chapel Allerton Hospital is dominated by Revision Surgery where he treats people with failed hip and knee replacements referred to him from across Yorkshire.

Training

Veysi went to medical school at the University of Leeds where he obtained his MBChB in 1992. During this time, he also obtained a BSc in Physiology.

His Basic Surgical training was in Leeds where he obtained his FRCS. Higher Surgical training was in the Yorkshire Rotation.

 

At the end of this he was awarded the FRCS (Tr&Orth) and CCST by the examining boards of the Royal Colleges. He did his Higher Fellowship in Hip and Knee Replacement in Leeds. During this time he also attended Centers of excellence in Baltimore and Vancouver as a Visiting Fellow.

Personal Background

Veysi was born in Cyprus and came to the United Kingdom where he attended the Forest School in London. In his free time he enjoys reading historical, crime and fantasy novels. His favourite author is Stephen King and recommends the Dark Tower series of books as a must read. He is a keen, but inelegant, skier. He describes himself as a survivor on the slopes!

 

He is a life-long Arsenal fan and remembers the lows of Don Howe, the glory of George Graham, the majesty of Arsene Wenger and the hope that is Mikel Arteta. He was introduced to Rugby by his son, and regularly attends England RFU games.
